The first step is
understanding yourself
You know something needs to change
But you may not be ready for coaching, or your partner may not be ready to join you.
You may feel stuck between wanting things to improve and not knowing where to begin. Perhaps your partner is not ready to get help. Perhaps you are single and noticing the same patterns following you from one relationship to the next. Or perhaps you simply want to understand yourself before taking a bigger step.
It can feel confusing when you have already read the advice and still react in ways you do not understand. You may think, Why do I always end up doing this? Why do I feel so anxious? Why do I keep second-guessing myself?
The usual advice can make you feel as though you should already know what to do. Communicate better. Set boundaries. Stop overthinking. But when you are upset, afraid or overwhelmed, those things are much harder to apply than they sound.
What is often missing is not more information. It is self-awareness. You need to understand what is happening underneath your reactions, needs and fears before you can begin to choose differently. But it does not have to stay this way.
Introducing Confidence Through Self-Awareness
Confidence Through Self-Awareness is a self-paced online course for people who want to understand their thoughts, feelings, reactions and relationship patterns more clearly.
It offers a private place to begin exploring what may be driving those patterns if you are not ready for coaching, would rather work independently, or your partner is not joining you.
Through short video lessons and reflective exercises, you’ll begin to understand what gets triggered, why certain situations affect you so strongly and what may be happening underneath your reactions.
That understanding can create more space between what you feel and what you do next, so you can respond with greater awareness, choice and confidence.
- Complete it privately, at your own pace
- Learn through short, manageable video lessons
- Understand your emotional reactions and recurring patterns
- Put what you learn into practice through guided reflections and exercises
- Begin independently, whether or not you are in a relationship
- Respond with greater calmice and confidence
Feel clearer about yourself again
As you understand yourself more clearly, you can begin to stop seeing your reactions as proof that something is wrong with you. You can start recognising the fears, needs and old patterns underneath them.
That kind of awareness can be quietly powerful. It helps you trust yourself more, second-guess yourself less and approach relationships from a steadier place.
More self-trust
You begin to trust your own feelings and judgement instead of constantly second-guessing yourself.
Less overthinking
You understand what is being triggered, so your thoughts feel less confusing and consuming.
A private place to begin
You can begin the work privately, without needing anyone else to be ready first.
Prefer to talk things through?
If you are considering coaching, you can enquire about a First Conversation. This is a full one-hour session costing £90, where we can explore what is happening, what you would like to change and whether further coaching might be helpful. You’re also welcome to ask anything about the course itself. Whatever you decide afterwards, you’ll come away with a clearer understanding of what’s really going on, and what might help.
Frequently asked questions
How is the course different from coaching or counselling?
The course is a self-paced educational programme that you work through independently. It helps you understand your thoughts, feelings, reactions and relationship patterns through video lessons, reflections and practical exercises.
Coaching or counselling is more personal and responsive. It gives us the opportunity to explore your particular circumstances and focus on what is happening for you.
All my clients receive access to Confidence Through Self-Awareness alongside their sessions. I work with a limited number of clients at any one time, so availability can vary. The course can also be valuable as a complete programme in its own right.
It’s important to say that the course is educational and is not a substitute for counselling, therapy or other professional mental health support where that is needed.
Do I need my partner to take part?
No. The course is designed for you to complete independently, whether you are in a relationship or not. Your partner does not need to watch the lessons or do the exercises.
Understanding your own reactions, needs and patterns can make a meaningful difference to how you feel and how you respond in your relationships, even when the other person is not doing the same work.
Where can I see the full course contents and price?
You can find the full course contents, details of everything included, feedback from previous participants and the current price on the dedicated course website.
You will be taken to OnlineRelationshipCourse.com.
How do I get access once I've bought it?
You’ll have access straight away. You’ll be guided on what to do and can log in whenever suits you, on any device. It’s yours to return to whenever you need it.
What can doing this course actually change?
Quite a lot!
The course helps you understand why you react as you do and what’s driving your reactions. It then gives you other ways to respond in place of the reactions that aren’t working.
It can help you feel more confident, although perhaps not in the way you’re expecting. This isn’t about learning to project confidence or talk yourself into it. The confidence this course builds is quieter and steadier: it comes from understanding yourself well enough that you’re no longer thrown by your own reactions. It’s the quiet confidence that comes from understanding yourself, rather than from effort.
What it can’t do is change another person for you; no course, coach or counsellor can. But when you understand your own part in any relationship clearly, you have real choices whereas before there was only the same old reaction. That’s often the very thing that shifts a relationship — even when only one person begins the work.
Do I need to be comfortable talking about feelings?
Not at all.
This course is practical rather than heavy going. It’s about making sense of yourself and finding calmer ways to respond, not sitting with difficult feelings for their own sake.
You go at your own pace, in your own time, and you’re guided through each step. And you may find that understanding yourself a little better makes those feelings less daunting than they once were — not because you’ve had to force anything, but because things make more sense once you understand them.
