Transform Your Relationship
An Online Home Study Course for Couples

Who is this course for?

It’s for any couple:

  • in a relationship they want to feel better about
  • who want to rebuild the strong foundations to their relationship
  • who are floundering, stuck or in crisis
  • who might not be ready to speak to a relationship coach or counsellor and would rather work on their relationship in the privacy of their own home

When you participate in the course, you’ll learn (amongst many things) how to:

  • use alternative behaviours to those that currently cause you both pain
  • make up gracefully and move on after a fight
  • reconnect with each other more readily
  • deal with feelings and emotions (yours and your partner’s) constructively and sensitively
  • make requests rather than demands and criticisms
  • recreate true intimacy
  • nurture your friendship, affection and respect for each other
  • listen, in order to understand and empathise, rather than argue
  • let go of fears about conflict and make it constructive and creative instead
  • know and honour your own and your partner’s boundaries
  • unleash the power of forgiveness and let go of resentment
  • deal with difference as well as embrace it and appreciate its value
  • communicate effectively
  • create a shared vision for both of you and your life together
How do you know this course will work for us? Expand

I don’t. I don’t know the point you’re starting from. I don’t know the hurts of your past. I don’t know what you’re willing to put into it.

I do know that IT will have the best chance of working if YOU do the work.

I know that if you take on board what the course tells you, do all the exercises and keep practicing using the tools, you will have enough to be able to move forward together.

I don’t suggest anything that hasn’t benefitted hundreds of my clients. As a Counsellor and a Coach supporting individuals, couples and teams for over 20 years, I’ve developed proven techniques for creating positive change and many of them are included in this course.

Please be advised though, this course is not intended for you if you are experiencing significant distress, anxiety, depression or mental health problems or your relationship includes any abuse. If you are experiencing any of these issues, please seek immediate support from a trained mental health professional.

Is this course a Quick Fix? Expand

No! If you’re looking for a quick fix or something that can help you transform your relationship overnight, this is not the course for you.

But if you are willing to watch the videos, do the exercises and make the changes I suggest to create a more loving, connected and solid relationship, then you could complete the course within 8 weeks.

What does the course consist of? Expand

The course consists of 12 modules which comprise a total of 46 short videos.

It begins with the 4 modules from my other course "Transform Yourself" (because the first place to create change in a relationship is within yourself) and there are then 8 further modules focussed on you as a couple and your relationship.

There are easy-to-follow comprehensive workbooks full of worksheets, tools and wisdom distilled from all that I’ve learned over the past 20 years. There are 50 exercises to complete which will help bring to life what I say in the videos.

The workbook is downloadable (it can be completed on any device) and printable (if you prefer to use a pen and paper) and contains summaries of the video content and ample space for reflection. It serves as the perfect companion to the videos.

How long will it take to complete the course? Expand

Once you purchase the course, you will have immediate access to all the material so you can do it at your own pace.

How long you spend on each exercise is up to you. But as a guideline, if you watch one video a day and do the work that goes with it, you’re likely to complete the course in around 8 weeks. I'd recommend that you aim for spreading it over 12 weeks though, to give you more time to practice what you learn.

MODULE1 - Develop your Self-Awareness

Experience the power of greater self-awareness
The easiest place to begin to create change in a relationship, is within yourself - which is where we begin this course.

We all have blind spots, including unconscious patterns in how we relate to others. Your automatic negative thoughts can also be a blindspot. This module will help you start to notice your thoughts and recognise how misleading they can be. You'll also learn to see the link between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Discovering the true cause of your feelings can help stop your unhelpful reactions to your partner which will create change in the relationship.

MODULE 2 - Get to know what drives your behaviour

Discover and start changing the behaviours that sabotage your relationship
We’ll delve into why you behave in ways that don’t serve you or the relationship and  begin to create change. When your partner provokes a strong reaction in you, it may mean that something in your unconscious has been triggered such as a belief like "I’m not good enough” or “People can’t be trusted”.

We’ll start to identify your limiting beliefs and the impact they (and the behaviours that result) have on your relationship. Then we’ll look at how you can start creating new beliefs that serve you, so you can feel more confident to be yourself in your relationship.

MODULE 3 - The real you

Uncover the parts of you that can guide you towards happiness
This module will help you get to know the parts of you that support and serve you.

You’ll discover the masks you wear, that unfortunately not only hide your vulnerabilities, but also your qualities and strengths. You’ll explore your values and consider what changes are possible in your life if you honour them, including dispelling limiting beliefs and having the confidence to remove your masks. You’ll be invited to consider how your feelings affect and shape you and what they might tell you.

All of this will help you become more self-accepting which can lead to more self-trust and ultimately more self-confidence to be the real you with your partner.

MODULE 4 - Positive change

A box of tools for anchoring your self-acceptance and self-confidence
Learn to accept all that makes you who you are and keep growing in self-confidence. This module includes a plethora of exercises and information to help you let go of your self-judgements and build your compassion, self-acceptance and forgiveness “muscles”.

It guides you through numerous practices that, if used regularly, can support you to keep developing new and constructive habits to replace those old habits that have long been doing you a disservice. They will help you become the "best you" which will serve you and help improve your relationship.

MODULE 5 - Know and respect each other's needs

Discover and meet each other's relationship needs
We all have basic human needs. Trust is damaged if we disregard or disrespect them. When both partners' needs are met, it helps the relationship thrive and trust to build.

Get to know your needs and take responsibility for them, understanding how your needs are different from your preferences or wants.

Find out how you can avoid toxic behaviours and, instead, express your needs clearly and constructively, which will be more likely to motivate your partner to support you with them.

Slide11

MODULE 6 - Build and Maintain Trust

Learn how to rebuild damaged trust and forgive
Trust is a critical building block in creating emotional safety and intimacy. This module will help you discover what trust really means for you and, if it has been damaged, how you and your partner can rebuild it.

Let go of the unhealthy behaviours that have become a wall between you and replace them with with healthy boundaries you can respect in each other. And if you're holding on to hurt or resentment, learn how to forgive yourself and your partner so you can free yourself from the past.

Slide3

MODULE 7 - Express and Deal with Feelings Confidently

Become more comfortable with your own and your partner's feelings
Trust needs emotional safety to express feelings and emotions. Learn how to express them well so your partner is willing to hear them.

We all have different emotional patterns and levels of emotional tolerance. Learn how to support your partner express how they feel by helping create an emotionally safe environment for you both.

Explore what to do if emotions escalate so you can avoid toxic behaviours and replace the destructive cycle of pursuing and withdrawing with more constructive behaviours that keep you connected.

Slide6

MODULE 8 - Get to Know and Accept Each Other

Learn to accept and appreciate your differences
Many relationship challenges are caused by an inability or unwillingness to deal well with difference. Difference is rarely the problem. It’s how you deal with it (or don't) that becomes the problem.

Get to know each other more fully so you can understand more about the differences between you and begin to see the value in them. Discover how your childhood experiences continue to affect your relationship and through understanding each other better, feel more empathy and compassion for each other. Learn too how you can influence the habits your partner has, that you find too difficult to accept.

Slide2

MODULE 9 - Nurture Warmth and Emotional Connection

Keep your channels of communication open and positivity high
When emotional connection is ruptured or is in danger of being ruptured, safety and security in the relationship diminishes which means a conversation is unlikely to be successful. Difficult conflict is unlikely to improve until you both feel emotionally safe with each other which requires connection. In this module you will leearn how to repair a  breakdown in connection.

Change the frame through which you see you partner so you are more likely to be able to increase the positivity in your relationship.

Slide5

MODULE 10 - Communicate with Love and Respect

Improve your communication skills so you truly hear each other and connect more deeply
Communicating with love and respect is the gateway to constructive conflict and building trust.

To truly know what your partner needs, you need to listen well and in this module you'll learn some invaluable listening skills. You'll also become more aware of each other's boundaries - what’s ok and not ok with you both - and how to respect them.

If you’re facing what might be a difficult conversation, find out how you can prepare – before you say a word. Then listen in a way that ensures your partner is understood.

MODULE 11 - Engage in Constructive Conflict

Improve your approach to conflict
Discover why your impact might not be what you intend. Change the unhelpful patterns of disagreement that you have both adopted by learning constructive ways of discussing your differences of opinion without losing your connection with each other.

Conflict is often the result of an unmet need. Learn to identify and communicate your unmet needs in a way that does not provoke defensive behaviour and, instead, discover how it can be an opportunity to get to know more about each other and connect at a deeper level.

Slide10

Module 12 - Build an Intimate, Meaningful and Compelling Future

Explore what adds meaning to your relationship
Shared meaning helps build intimacy, in that the more you share, the more connected you feel.

Intimacy happens when each of you allow your partner to really see and know you and you’re both willing to see and accept all of your partner.

Learn what intimacy involves and how to nurture it together. Integrate this knowledge with what you discover about your shared goals, values and dreams in order to create a compelling vision for your future together - a picture of what your relationship will look like going forward.
